“All Things Change”

lyrics by William Patrick Corgan

All things change
Never rest, never sure
What is worth
Fighting on for

All things change
Never rest, never sure
What is worth
Fighting on for

All things change
Around
All is faith
Unwound

I found a lead
A single furtive reason
My senses reeled
In seeking youthful madness
I trust belief belongs to me
Someone will come
To spit the seed
A single weed gets respect
I’ll change my quills to break the will
Forever must hold

All things strain
Be they changed
Be they fair
Be they hope
Masked as care

All things change
Never rest, never sure
What is worth
Fighting on for

All things change
Never rest, never sure
What is worth
Hangin’ on for

You might
Be there
God knows
Skies stare
Taste dirt
You hurt
Swallow
Shallow
Forgive
This day
Summon
Courage
No light
Comes in
Shadows
Laughin’

All things change
Never rest, never sure
What is worth
Fighting on for

We can change the world

February 2019… Looking back fondly

Ode to My Inner Child

when I was a child, we ran
through the woods, the snow and some creeks
we’d sneak dirty Playboys from the older kids dads
we weren’t being crazy just living life
taller than most with really red cheeks

our world-view assignment was not prearranged
except during school as teachers bells rang
who could influence what students really wanted
try listening for once we always taunted
we sure didn’t care as we danced after class
we thought we were cool our voices had changed

happy is doing as our hearts ached with danger
being a student was a challenge at best
enjoying every moment with vigor or swagger
learning is life figuring out what just happened
finally studied enough to not be The Stranger

Grandma Rosie, Uncle Rollie and my beautiful cousins
